Welcome to the BEn-Project!
The utilisation of biomass as a renewable energy source which is locally available and storable offers the opportunity to regional authorities to actively participate in the energy supply of their region. During the three-year project BEn a user-friendly regional energy planning tool will be developed. It will describe the real conditions and be equipped with a simulation tool which supports decision making and efficient energy generation from biomass. [more]

Fraunhofer UMSICHT, EFTAS GmbH and the Institute für Photogrammetrie und Geoinformation of the Leibnitz University prepare a feasibility study of a remote sensing based system to monitor and determine biomass by the end of 2013.
